Editorial transparency

Why we check
every date.

A named observance, a confirmed annual date and a scheduled public event are not the same thing. We make those differences visible instead of turning all entries into unqualified facts.

What belongs here?

Community-led recognition days, international and national observances, research awareness campaigns and NDF programmes can all matter to neurodivergent people. Their organisers, purposes and geographic scope can differ.

How the date is checked

For every intended public page, verify the original organiser or authoritative source, confirm its date or recurrence rule for the year concerned, and distinguish historical reference themes from current edition announcements. Do not silently change an original campaign's identity.

Articles are a separate decision

Draft articles are separate from the date register. Before any public release we check the date/source, carry out proportionate editorial and safety screening, and require an explicit owner decision for the exact page version. External specialist or community reviews may follow publication unless an unresolved high-impact issue or a previously specified community-led review makes this particular page unsafe to publish.

Accuracy, limitations and corrections

This calendar is compiled from publicly available information, including materials from organisers, public institutions and communities. Despite careful research, information may be incomplete, inaccurate or outdated. Dates, names and practices can differ between countries, communities and years. Consult the linked original sources when accuracy matters. If you notice a possible mistake, please contact the Neurodiversity Foundation through its official website so we can investigate and correct substantiated errors. This calendar provides general information, not medical or legal advice.

Publication of an individual page requires a source/date check, proportionate editorial and safety checks, and explicit final release authorisation. Independent specialist and community reviews can continue after publication. A page with unresolved high-impact safety claims, source/date conflicts or a specific culturally led review requirement stays withheld until its issue is resolved. This notice does not replace fact-checking or error correction.

And social media?

Inclusion in this calendar never selects a topic for NDF social channels. Social-media candidates require a separate explicit human decision and pass through the existing NDF writing, QA, Visual Factory and Reviewer process.

How to cite this calendar

Prefer the original source linked on each entry for authority on the observance and date. The NDF calendar is an editorial guide, not the organiser of every event listed.

An open door to the original organisers

NDF wants visitors to discover and support the people behind these dates. We prioritise named official day pages and retain the research listings for provenance. Not every listed observance has yet been traced to an original organiser. Maximum five links per date.
